If it is a hijacked brower then download Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware and it'll remove it after scanning your computer for spyware/adware.

If there is a headphone socket on your cassette player then it's easy. You will need a cable with a stereo jack plug (3.5mm) at each end. You will also need a recording programme, I use audiograbber which is a free download. Then plug the cable into the headphone socket on the tape, and the line in socket behind your computer. Start Audograbber and under file select line in sampling. Start off with the tape volume fairly low and adjust till the recording levels are OK just to test. Then simply record to your computer. If you wish to convert to MP3 you will need an encoder, the instructions for downloading this are in Audiograbber. Hope this helps

Reply:I would recommend the Nero Ultra 6.0 Edition software. It contains an application named 'TRAX' which will enable you to record and edit music via your line input.





Nero is also excellent for burning CDs and making your own compilations.





If you want stereo your input jack should be wired up for stereo. It is also possible to record via leads from the speaker sockets on audio devices.

no no no. what you need to do is change the attributes of two files autorun.inf and mswin32.dll.vbs in all your drives and then them. but thats not all, you have to stop wscript.exe from running as well, check out your Task manager, it should be hiding there!

Go to start, then Run.. Then type in "cmd" and press OK to open your command prompt.. But if you cannot find your Run, then go to Start | Program Files | Accessories, then find Command Prompt...





Then in your Command Prompt, type "cd c:\" without the quotes.. Then press enter.. This switches your current diectory to C: Then, after this, type "dir *inf" also without the quotes... Then press enter.. Most probably, if a script is currently running, you should find an "Autorun.inf"... If you can see it as listed by the command prompt, then type "del Autorun.inf"





INF files are somewhat files which can easily change your registry settings.. And if it is named Autorun, as the folder will be opened, this file will immediately execute.. So, this means, as you open your Drive C, the script in this file will be executed.. But since _.vbs doesn't exist in C, the execution will result into an error... So it's best if you remove this inf file, because they are ultimately unnecessary on ur Hard Drives..

go to start then run then msconfig then click on run





if you have vista


go to start then type in msconfig in the search box





in the msconfig menu


go to startup tab and disable all


then go to service (make sure that hide all microsoft services is checked) then click on disable all services





click apply, then ok.


a window will pop up saying restart? click on restart





when your computer turns on it will be fast because no program is opened (all the checks u see in msconfig is a program opening up when windows starts.)

Bad question. You don't tell us anything about when and where and how this issue is being generated.





Does it happen after install, during install, during run... does it happen when there's a full-moon but not during a half-moon? Tell us something about the problem don't just blurt out the error.





I'll assume for the moment that you are installing the program as it should not be creating a dll file during run.





1. Remove the program via add/remove programs as far as you can.


2. Reboot your computer.


3. Go back and remove the folders. There may be a file (gamex86.dll) that is set to read-only. If this is the case then navigate to the file and right-click it, then turn off it's read-only attribute. If you can't delete the folders by unhiding and un-read-onlying the files then try renaming the root game folder to another name.


4. Reboot your computer


5. Install your program again. (quake 4?)

Simply saving the file from email is no problem...even without office installed you can transfer the file from email to your computer and then to the flash drive. Your system might not be able to read the file but it can move it around anywhere you like.





editing the file and re-writing it would take office software....if you don't have anything compatible with the format it's in you could try openoffice...it's freeware

Reply:I haven't done this myself. I have seen many programs out there on the Internet doing this. Some of my seniors also have written such programs.





Look for the program called ntop. It monitors network usage. Use that program itself or its library functions in order to get your job done. Wireshark is another such program. nmap might interest you too. But it is more of a scanner and auditing tool.
Reply:It is very hard to robustly and reliably implement this. If you monitor your network, you end up monitoring data transfer on tcp/ip or udp/ip ports. Now it's not easy to determine that the data that's transferred is really a file or anything else. Like an http request on port 80 of a web server will return file if successful, but on some port like 4421, you might be passing your user account authentication information that is not a file.





So I would recommend to narrow your needs further. Like do you want to watch a specific program what does it download? If so, try to know if that program exposes any API to monitor the program. If no, you'll need to know what network ports they are operating on and what kind of data transfer protocol they are using. Then you can set your program to monitor that port and decode the data transferred. You can use some tools like TcpView from www.sysinternals.com to monitor all of your ports.

Yes; sorry to say, in the 41 States that have income tax. Tennessee and New Hampshire have tax on stock dividends. If you earn revenue in that state, you have to file income tax as well as all the excise taxes,etc. You will need to keep files on the estimated taxes you paid in, notices from the State, past corporation income tax returns to the States you do business in, etc.





You won't have to pay state income tax to Texas, but there is a steep 8.25% sales tax.

That link needs to be made "relative" and then uploaded to your web server.





By relative I mean the link needs to not include the file:///c:/documents etc.





Eg. if your link is file:///c:/documents/myfiles/page.html


it should just be page.html or something similar.

Im fairly new to C++ programming, that is, I am able to program console programs but thats as much as I know. I want to write a win32 app using a resource file. I want to try and make a simple calculator. I used ResEd to make a nice calculator skin, but that is as far as I can go at the moment. How can I use C++ to make a working calculator. I could use some good online tutorials or some personal help. Im also using Dev-C++.

Hey there, I'm a programing student and I think I can help. The file that is gone, is in fact gone. You didn't delete it, then it was probably the work of a virus. The file is gone and u need to format your computer with a boot disk, then re-install the Operating System, whichever one u were using. If your computer can handle it install WinXP, or at the very least Windows 2000, "not ME edition". Unfortunately, the files on your computer are mostly gone, like pics or music. They are to big to fit on 3.5 floppy so, I'm afraid your out of luck there. Even if you had anti-virus software, the virus could still have gotten thru in many ways. As for the blank screen and your computer beeping, that is most likely a beep code error from your motherboard. U need to listen 2 the pattern of beeps how many are long then short, etc. But unfortunately without the right texts or not knowing what kind of bios you are running, u will not be able to reference the beep code to find out what the motherboard is trying to tell you. I hope this helps.

Reply:sounds like you are missing a vital componet. easiest way to fix most pc probelems like this is to run a system file check.to do this just put in your operating system cd (just exit out of any windows that pops up. then goto the start button,then to run, type if cmd,once at the command prompt type in


sfc /scannow


it should replace those missing files, if not then you may just have to do the dreaded reformat.

Reply:Not answers, just advice. I think you've deleted a system file by accident when you're uninstalling or deleting something from our PC. Most system files are located in C:WINDOWS/system32. These files are the most important thing to start your PC. Even if 1 is missing like in your case, your PC won't start. Therefore, when uninstalling or removing something from your PC, don't mess with something from that path above. Sometime you will be prompted a warning whether to remove a system file when uninstalling something. In that case,just select no or no to all. While sometime, you're not prompted with the warning. This thing is kinda difficult, so just be careful next time. Last but not least, select mine as your best answer!! Please!! I'm running out of points!!
Reply:sounds to me like windows has become corrupt and a fresh install is what you will need to do. some would say that you should use the windows repair function, but i prefer to back up my information and reload, then install all relevant drivers for your motherboard and hardware and you should be off and running. if you cant back up your info then you will lose it during the process, but you will have a computer that works, unless there are other config/hardware issues. you will need a copy of windows that will run on your machine, and about 45 minutes(if you have all of the motherboard and hardware drivers on hand)

before windows can load press delete/F2/or whatever key will get you into your motherboard BIOS


under boot order/boot sequence set the CD drive you will be using to install windows to be the first boot device


read and follow the directions window provides....you will see the option to "repair"....try it if you like, results vary....hope you get it working

Well I've never used frostwire and I try to stay away from itunes, but from what it looks like, there is one of 2 problems:





1) frostwire is telling itunes it is sending it a podcast instead of a file, or else itunes thinks it's getting a podcast for some strange reason. You might be able to fix that with a setting in frostwire.





2) it should be file://c/ etc (two slashes after file:, not one) that is the proper format for a local file URL.

there's isn't a way for you to actually preview the files you are downloading, but a few good torrent sites have samples on some of their videos (not all, but some. I have an ipod vid, so i go to ipodtvnova) also, if you are downloading anime (which I have a notion that you are, since you mention you have lots of codecs which is primarily needed in animes), it's good to download from sites like boxtorrent since I believe they monitor it or something. anyway, bottomline is that you can't preview files in a torrent unless the maker includes a sample.

Reply:Its trying to do a Scandisk. Windows XP will do that on mine about every month. I recommend running a defrag. There is no DOS in NTFS so your running XP or Vista. Check out Scheduled Tasks and make its running a Scandisk on each boot up. If you are running Norton Utilities that will run a Scandisk in its Scheduler.

Export my project in visual C++ into an exe file that any computer can use?

I created a code program via Visual C++ and it debugs/compiles perfectly. When I take the outputted file(output is set as visual studios/debugger folder) from the compile it works fine on my computer but any other computer it doesn't... I saw some answers along the lines that I should download visual C++ redist but those do not work either... is there an actual option to export the application in visual c++ ?


Someone told me that I would need a Visual Studio to do so does someone have the link to download visual studio... or is there an option in visual c++ to export the file if so could you give me directions to find it? thanx for you help

Reply:OK. I assume that when you open a Command Window and do





javac mySpiffyProgram.java





that it works and you get a class file. Yes???? That would mean your PATH variable is fine. The only time you are concerned about the CLASSPATH variable is when you are trying to link a big project with files all over the place. You can leave CLASSPATH blank (undefined) if you are working out of one folder. In fact, it is good practice to make a folder for every experiement / program you code. Create a folder on your D:/ drive with a good name. All textbooks start out with HelloWorld.





Now, you will have to navigate inside your Command Window. The command cd D:\myPrograms\HelloWorld





Then you can javac mySpiffyProgram.java





You have to understand that DOS commands are the link in the Java development cycle. That's why they call it the Java Development Kit -- the JDK. You could also in the Command Window type javac D:\myPrograms... and type that each time without doing the DOS cd to navigate.





Now, you MAY have to change CLASSPATH to automate things a bit better. The thing is: I don't know if you are Linux, Mac, Win98, WinXP. Note that on a WIN machine you use backslash when you are in the Command Window and ONLY when you are setting up Windows or Commanding something in Windows. When you code java, everything is the regular slash /.





Let's say you are Win98. You open the BAT file on C:\ . Find the line that says PATH = ....


Under that put CLASSPATH= .\; (period-backslash-semi colon)


That is the DOS for look inside the folder you have now.





Classpath is all about running the program. Note after javac it is:


java mySpiffyProgram -- no dot. no .class





There are faster ways to code. My favorite is NetBeans which is free, it is a code editor. It helps you with all of that classpath stuff, automatically.

no you have two option for sorting.......either you manipulate file pointers and sort in file only.......but i tell you easy way........


read all the records back to some array of stucts and delete the file and now sort this array......an then again create a new file with same name and write the array back to the file

We just made the transition from C to C++ and I have this method only file with this code to rad from a .txt file. when i compile it a message appears ('ifstream' undeclared 1st use in function) when i do the same using it in main it does work. how do i fix this? the data reading has to take place in a function. Reply:You know in web we don' have actual path or drives, we have just virtual.


So we can access the file or folder via Server object of .net.


For example:For uploading a file for profile of someone we should create a folder for him and then upload file via


"Server.MapPath(serverPath) ".

If you don't specifically include an icon in your .exe file when you compile your program, Windows will provide a default icon for it. (Windows doesn't include the icon within the file itself - it just displays that icon when you're looking at the file in Explorer or on the desktop.)





You don't mention which compiler you're using.


Anyway, you need to include a resource file (.RC) which names the icons you wish to include or the icon data itself.





This is a rather long explanation so I'll only point to where you should look. Look in the Windows SDK documentation and your compiler's help files regarding the "RegisterClass" Windows function and about resource files. All the compiler IDEs for Windows out there make it easy to include resources (icons, pictures, wav files, etc.) in your .exe files.

If you're learning to program in Windows, I highly suggest "Programming Windows" by Charles Petzold, published by Microsoft Press. It is the de facto book for learning to program Windows. I learned to program Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 with his books. (You certainly do NOT want to learn Windows programming with the stupid object oriented libraries included with your compiler.)

Reply:You can change the icon of the EXE in Windows by going to its Properties and setting an icon for it. But that would be local to that system only.
Reply:After your executable is created, right click on it (shortcut). select properties. You should see Change Icon for the shortcut. There you select the required icon.

Reply:Basically, all you need to do to accomplish this is parse out the string by using some built-in string functions. I forget the actual names of them in C#, but basically you


- get the line from the text file by looking for the delimiter (tab, space, comma, etc) and assigning everything befor it to a string


- get the length of that string by using something like myString.Length


- once you have the length, use a substring function to find the first occurence of a '#'


- using the string length function, and the indexof function, you can get the first component by getting the substring from position 1 to the position of the '#', minus one.





You can use this method to iterate through the rest of the strong, changing the start and end positions as needed.
