File types are listed as D File for sag.d file; V file for s3m0.v. The files are small 0 kb to 77 kb. Anyone know which program or process is responsible for generating these files and what they're for? Thank you!
My C drive file is filled with unknown-file types such as sag.d, s3m0v.?
No knowing the contents of those files, these are likely file fragments found and created by Windows Scandisk.
Reply:Baysidetx,
I have the same things. You ever find out what they were from? Report It
Reply:You might try something like PCBOOSTER. It cleaned up several things for me, I also had a technician help me "clean up" my computers. They were from the Atlanta area:

Reply:Where are they on the drive? Are they in the root directory, the Windows directory (or WINNT), or where? If they are in the root, they probably can be safely deleted. You may wish to check the dates. If the dates are recent, you could have an active infection of some sort.
While at it, you should scan for adware and viruses. Very often, randomly named files are created by viruses. Of course, it the files were in some directory, it could mean that the program in that directory simply left some of its junk lying around.
