I do not know what a C:\$MFT file is or why it is corrupted. I do not know what a chkdsh utility is and how to run it. Please help me
What is a C:\$MFT file and why does my computer says it is corrupted? It says i have to run a chkdsh utility?
It is the Master File Table and is a very important part of your hard drive partition.
You could go to "my computer" and right click on the C: drive and go to tools. From there you can click on the "errror checking" button. It will not let you do it without restarting though.
If you cannot do it inside windows, you will need to go to the windows Recovery console on your WINXP disk and type "Chkdsk"
