I frequently get an error message that file C:\windows\win.ini is corrupt or unreadable.run chkdsk. what to do
Boot the system with the XP CD in the drive. Choose to boot from the CD. Go through the menu and find the option to go to a DOS prompt. At the prompt it should be at C: if not type C: then enter. Type chkdsk /r to start checkdisk repair utility. Note there's a space between k and / ... chkdsk(space)/r. When chkdsk is done remove the xp disc and restart the computer.
Reply:Did you run CheckDisk? (If not, try that first)
Reply:In ur search browser type win.ini is corrupt press enter then click on How to restore the system.ini and win.ini By typing win.ini is corrupt in ur search browser will give u many other links to try if the above one does not work. Good luck
Reply:what you have sir is called a virus. Bloodhound maybe. get AntiVirus, Norton does not cover every virus.
Reply:ok... u r probably using windows xp... you are going to have to do a system restore...

this is how u do it

start%26gt;help and support%26gt; type in "run the system restore wizard"%26gt; then on the left it should give u a list... click on "run the system restore wizard%26gt; then select "restore system to an earlier time"%26gt; then select a date when it was working fine.
