I seem to have a lot of adware in the file C:/windows/system32. Is this a file I can delete or do I need it?

You would want to keep it. SYSTEM32 is basically where all the files to keep your hardware and software running together is stored there. Any change could seriously affect your PC's performance

I seem to have a lot of adware in the file C:/windows/system32. Is this a file I can delete or do I need it?

Reply:I found a program this morning that may help you. If it program says: Cannot delete, access denied, Sharing violation, File in use by another user,Make sure the disk is not fully copywrited, Microsoft will not allow this progaram to be removed. I have downloaded this little program. It can get rid of what you don't want or need in your computer. Read instruction on site page and the 'READ ME' page. It is called 'Unlocker Assistance. and it is free. Hope this helps
Reply:download adware spyware dectector to remove the adware it's free
Reply:DO NOT DELETE IT!

Those are files needed to operate everything on the system. If you do, you will not post any more questions here until you re-install your OS.
Reply:No, you can't just delete that file folder.

If you are using SpyBot or Ad-Aware they will search the computer for harmful ad and spy ware and remove it without trying to personally delete files.
Reply:There are some programs that can get by adware removers and can attach themselves to important system files.

Some of these programs are all most impossible to remove.

Go here and download Hijack-This.

(There are other useful programs here to.)

This program does deep rooted searching that other adware programs don't touch.

After you download the program, go here and read the forums so that you will better understand what you will need to do.

Reply:how do u know u have adware there? If ur antivirus is telling u then let it clean them
Reply:I recommend that you try using a program called AdAware and Spybot to clean up your PC of spyware, etc. Don't go deleting things out of the Windows directory when you don't know what they are. The Windows/System 32/ directory is a repository for many system files that Windows needs in order to operate.

Misc. Info:

"A required Microsoft Windows system directory, the Windows System32 directory is often located in either C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Winnt\system32. Often, many Microsoft Windows error messages will contain the system32 directory because many of the system files Windows uses to run are stored in this directory. By itself, the System32 directory will not cause any errors unless it is missing, of course. If you are getting an error with a file in the System32 directory, search for that file."
Reply:it is not recommended to delete this file,if so your booting and your window settings will be also deleted
Reply:No! Dont delete this! You need to keep it, or else your system will mess up.
Reply:you can keep this file
